I hold a Bachelor of Science, highly qualified in life science 8-12 with one year of science teaching experience and an extensive background in the research field where I worked for twenty seven years. I believe I can effectively deploy my education and knowledge of science if given the opportunity.
I am quite assertive about teaching and I believe that every child can learn and will learn. I am an experienced secondary science teacher with acceptance into Texas Teacher Certification Program. I enjoy empowering students to become proactive about their education while creating a safe and nurturing environment for learning. My first year as a biology teacher, my school earned 80% passing of STARR testing in biology. I taught biology for one year and biology and environment system half of a year. Managing the difference of abilities among my students proved a difficult, but satisfying, challenge. I tailored activities to maintain the interest of high level students without intimidating less skilled students. Previously, I worked for University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston as a researcher technician where I handled several responsibilities which including problem solving science techniques and collaborating with scientists about various research projects while performing technical jobs.
My experience as a science teacher has made me a better effective teacher.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students.
