Bio

I'm a college economics instructor and I'm here to help you learn the topic I love. I think economics can be easy and fun to learn if taught the right way. I help my students grasp the intuition behind the concepts, as well as master the techniques used in the models. My goal is to bridge the gap between common sense and the graphs and equations.

I have M.A. and B.A. degrees in Economics and a B.A. in Political Science. I've taught at both the university level and the community-college...

I have M.A. and B.A. degrees in Economics and a B.A. in Political Science. I've taught at both the university level and the community-college level (which I currently teach at). I have tutored AP Economics, SAT math, as well as college math and computer programming for MBA students.

Economics, math and statistics can be easy, fun and exciting, and I'd love to help you see how.

Econometrics,

Econometrics

As a university teaching assistant for Econometrics I helped students see the intuition behind the formulas, learn the techniques, prepare for exams, write programs, and complete their course projects. I have helped students one-on-one, in addition to classroom teaching. I've done a lot of coursework, myself. As a graduate student in economics I completed six graduate-level econometrics courses, in addition to two econometrics courses when I was an undergraduate. I applied those econometric techniques as part of my own graduate thesis work and as a research assistant.

Computer

MATLAB,

MATLAB

I've used MATLAB intensively as part of my thesis work in graduate school, which had a heavy emphasis on optimization. Subtopics include: Input/output, arrays, matrices, plotting and graphics, functions, flow control and conditionals, mathematical operations, solvers and optimizers, simulations, dynamic programming, maximum-likelihood estimation and general statistical analysis. I have previous experience tutoring MATLAB. Programming in MATLAB is relatively simple. I'd love to show you why!
STATA,

STATA

STATA was one of my primary data-analysis tools as a graduate student in economics. Not only did I use it for my course work, but for my own thesis research and for my duties as a research assistant to a professor. Typical tasks involved regressions, logit/probit, ANOVA, descriptive statistics, graphics, data management, and input/output. I have also used its built-in matrix and programming language extensively.

Da Bomb!

Albert is very knowledgeable and has a firm grip on the subject of Economics, for which he is tutoring me in. Albert is very patience and explains the concepts very clearly so I understand my homework and am able to complete my assignments and prepare for my test. Albert makes sure I know what the concepts are before moving on to another concept and helps put everything into perspective to make learning the subject easier. I would recommend Albert for tutoring in economics for any level of student.

Very Helpful

I was taking a fast paced online Business Statistics course and Albert was able to clarify the final project for me. He helped me understand how to interpret the data from a regression, and made sure I knew how to talk about the data so I could write a case analysis paper on it. I was very pleased with his knowledge and would highly recommend him to others.

Very Good and knowledgeable in subject

Albert has great personality with knowledge in what it takes to achieve the goals that the students is hoping for. My son has a positive outlook in reaching the score that he wants in the ASVAB test with his new tutor. Thank you, Albert P. and WyzAnt Tutoring, for your help.
