About Wesley

My name is Wesley, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Florida. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a 3.9/4.0 GPA. My areas of expertise include pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calculus, and calculus 1. I have also taken calculus 2, calculus 3, and differential equations, so I have a strong aptitude for math. Honestly, I do not have any official tutoring experience. However, during my tenure at the University of Florida, I tutored fellow classmates in the classes we were enrolled in in order to help them succeed. I am very patient when it comes to teaching others the subject at hand. I am willing to negotiate the price per hour, so just give me a call if you need help with your high school or middle school math subjects! Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering. A lot of my classes in the program required a strong foundation in mathematics. I am proficient in Calculus I,II,III, and differential equations. I have a strong foundation in Algebra and precalculus.

MATLAB

I have 2-3 years' experience in using MATLAB. At the University of Florida, I took a course called numerical methods, which used MATLAB to solve iterative math problems that were otherwise to time consuming or impossible using hand methods. I was one of the few to receive an A in the class. Also, I used MATLAB in my thermo-fluids lab class to develop an optimization program that would design a pump system that took into account multiple parameters. The program in MATLAB then performed thousands of operations to calculate different values while iterating through the different parameters. This process would of been impossible without MATLAB given our time frame. I've also used MATLAB to interpret and analyze data from a different file form. Data from an experiment was important to MATLAB. I was then able to use MATLAB to analyze the data, and perform any manipulations necessary. This was for our Dynamics and Controls Laboratory.

Mechanical Engineering

I've recently graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I was able to graduate with a 3.9/4.0 GPA, and graduated with Cum laude honors. I was able to finish the 4.5 year program in 4 years. I am familiar with all of the basic theories and concepts required to gain a mechanical engineering degree.
