I have a medical degree and masters program in public health. I did teach mathematics for more than 5 years in classroom setting and many more years in informal ways, mostly one-on-one and with a few small groups settings as well. Presently I am adjunct professor of Anatomy and physiology in a Community college.
From my experiences, I believe every student can understand and interpret mathematical principles if given the necessary tools. So my strategy is to expose every student to those simple and easy steps. Math is the most commonly used technical application in our everyday living, and once students understand how often they use mathematical formulas in every moment of their daily activities, then they will begin to appreciate it. I am offering every student out there this great opportunity to improve their math proficiency. In the beginning, it may look tough but the end will justify the means with just a little bit of interest.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
