As a teacher in both Texas and London, England, I have worked with students from primary school through college. The last 3 years I taught pre-algebra and algebra I, while attaining my Master's in English from a London university. As a professional teacher and writer, I know what it takes to succeed in the classroom and in the world at large. Critical thinking skills of personal responsibility, no blame, and accountability for thoughts and actions are part of every subject I teach. Patti was very sweet and great at communication with myself and my 11 year old son. She helped my son for a month before the school year to improve his math skills for an hour, twice a week. With her help and encouragement, my 11 year old was showing major improvement within just a few days of working with Patti. I as sad that we were unable to help her for the full year, due to school complications. I highly recommend Patti and I hope to have her help in the future.
Thanks for your help!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
