In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been a lifelong student of the Bible. I have attended one year of seminary. I occasionally write pieces on the subject of religious/biblical history.
I am qualified to teach beginning students basic fingering techniques, strumming and picking techniques, and chord structures. I am not qualified to teach the reading of music for guitar, only chord accompaniments, from sheet music.
Please note that I am already qualified in Bible studies. I attended seminary for one year of my secondary education. I am deeply read in matters theological, and own an extensive collection of theological works. It is a subject of immense interest to me, and I keep current with many contemporary theological tendencies. I would be able to provide ample grounding in the lexicology and conceptual framework of advanced theology to any interested student.
I have a B.A. in sociology with a 3.2 GPA at University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, 1979.
