I taught 20 years at the high school level teaching Algebra I, Geometry and Fundamentals of Math. During the last 10 years of my teaching career I taught in middle school. I taught 6th, 7th and 8th Math and Algebra I. I retired after teaching for 30 years in Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. After 6 years of retirement I have a strong desire to teach again.

Jeannie is helping my son with 6th grade math. She is very patient and explains it so it's easy for him to understand.
Jeannie is good at exploring my daughter's strengths and weaknesses and caters sessions around that. Her approach allows my daughter to feel very comfortable, which is very important to us.
Jeannie is exactly what I was looking for to help my daughter. She is extremely knowledgeable and patient. She took the extra time to thoroughly explain the equations to my daughter. My daughter walked away from the lesson feeling more confident and she is looking forward to showing her teacher what she learned. I highly recommend Jeannie to anyone who has a middle schooler struggling.
Jeannie has been a great tutor for my daughter who has had difficulty in math. She is very punctual, patient and helped my daughter build confidence. We have seen positive results in such little time and I am confident that with Jeannie's help my daughter will be receiving an A by the end of this year in Algebra . I would highly recommend her because of the results we have seen with my child, she is always on time and helped build confidence when my child was struggling.
My daughter struggled with math throughout elementary. I found Mrs. Jeannie at the start of my daughter's middle school year to help with math. She has been a great help and I have seen my daughter's grades improve. She is very knowledgeable in math taught within Cy-Fair ISD standards and ways. She is very patient with my daughter and is always on time. I would highly recommend Mrs. Jeannie for tutoring.
We needed someone who would push her a little harder than Jeannie would. We felt Jeannie would be too soft.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
After teaching Algebra I in both high school and middle school for 30 years I believe in teaching understanding of Algebra not just 'how to do it'. If one truly understands the concepts, the learning and remembering will be much easier. I want all my students to understand by conceptually developing each concept.
I feel I am qualified to tutor elementary math because of the experience I have teaching middle school math for 10 years. In addition to my years in middle school I taught for 20 years in high school. I know the necessary concept for success in math through high school and a belief in learning through conceptual development.
During my 10 years teaching in two middle schools I taught grades 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math. This experience gave me knowledge of all Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills(TEKS) for the middle school grades. I believe to learn a math concept that you must understand the concept and to understand the concept learning must began with the concept and then move to the process.
