About Stacy

Every Child Can Learn, my role is to help them learn how they learn best! I like to focus on the strengths that a student has, and teach strategies that can compensate for the weaknesses they present. I approach teaching from a practical perspective while taking advantage of the natural context in which learning occurs. I believe in teaching to the individual style in which the student learns best. In order to determine this style, I do an assessment for each individual child. I will start from where the student is in the area they require tutoring, and use their strengths to help them develop skills towards becoming a more successful learner.

I have been working in the field of Special Education for the past 22 years; I began my career as a Speech Therapist and developed into an educator with a specialization in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders. I enjoy working with elementary age students who demonstrate specific learning disabilities and specific language delays in the area of pragmatics and NLD.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Great first session!

Stacy helped our 9-year-old son with his Math and Reading homework. She quickly determined what he needed to understand word problems. She really understands autistic kids. We were very impressed and look forward to his next session.
