Besides regularly performing, teaching has been one of the most important things in my life. For more than 19 years, I have taught piano, violin, composition, theory, and music technology to music lovers of all ages. My students have gone on to win prizes both locally and nationally. I enjoy sharing with students my love for music in a nurturing atmosphere.
*** Lesson Details ***
Note-reading, technique, theory, improvisation, standard and not-so-standard pieces. Occasionally, we also include pop, jazz, blues, and musical theater works in our lessons. I have been described by my students as funny, strict, nice, and patient. I am not afraid to tell my students they need to step up the effort if I see potential in them to do well. I also know when to give them the support when they feel frustrated. Students' interests will be taken into consideration for the style of lessons given. Teaching has always been my passion. I get to know the personality of my students so we can work together to bring out the musical talent in each of them. Student recital is held at least once every year. I encourage all students to participate in the recital.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
