Hey, I'm Ryan, and I'm a senior at Rice University majoring in computer science. I'm well versed in both using and teaching Java and Python. As a former TA for Rice's introductory computer science course, I have experience teaching coding and fundamental computer science topics. Additionally, I have extensive industry experience having interned at Google, Salesforce, and Microsoft. After graduation this May, I will be returning to Microsoft for full-time.

I got a perfect 5 on the AP Computer Science exam in my sophomore year of high school, and I have a 3.8 GPA as a senior in computer science. I've taken classes covering data structures and algorithms, program design and construction, computer systems, and machine learning.

My goal as a tutor is to help students learn and master computer science fundamentals and understand what they are doing when writing and reading code. One of my specialties is explaining tricky concepts in a way that's simpler to understand. I have loved helping other students learn and improve their coding and computational thinking skills, and I'm super excited to continue doing so as a tutor here on Wyzant!
