Hey there! My name is Travis and I'm an experienced Microbiology and biology professor. I teach roughly 65 students each semester. I really like to utilize different teaching methods and resources as needed to reach each student's individual needs.
I primarily teach Microbiology and Microbiology lab for pre-nursing students and have very high success rates in my courses. I also have experience teaching introductory Biology for both science and non-science majors. Many of my students tend to be adults with children and full-time jobs, so I definitely understand the need to be flexible. Along with this, I dedicate my summers to teach biology for the local upward bound program, where I help incoming high school students learn elementary biological concepts. I've had students ranging from 13 to 67 years of age. I've taught remotely, in person, had one-on-one meetings. I do my very best to make sure each and every one of my students have every possible chance to succeed.
I received my bachelor's in Microbiology: Microbial Pathogenesis from Oklahoma State University. It was here I fell in love with Microbiology (hopefully I can pass that passion on to you!). After graduating, my studies subsequently took me to Stephen F. Austin State University, where I received my Masters in Biotechnology.
If you're needing help understanding concepts for lecture, are confused in lab, or maybe you just want to cover practice quiz/exam questions, or whatever biology/microbiology assistance it may be, please don't hesitate to reach out!
