My name is Carine K. I am a French self-employed translator who serves as an interpreter in French and Spanish for non-English speakers. I came to the United States in 2002 to earn my degree in Languages and Linguistics at Binghamton University, which I received in 2006.
I decided to take my education up a notch by obtaining in 2009 my master's in advertising and public relations, which allowed me to work as a marketing coordinator for a prestigious company in New York for 3 years. After I married, I moved with my husband to Texas. Since I prefer to keep a close look at our 1-year-old son's growth, I decided to work from home until I feel I am comfortable with him going to daycare. The time has now come when I can entrust him to the hands of daycare specialists while I share my knowledge of French with young curious minds.
As a full-time student at Binghamton University, I was fortunate to be a part-time tutor in French, Spanish and history for 2 years at the University. My hard work and rigor allowed me to bring a letter of recommendation to a tutoring center in New York City called Champion Learning Center. From 2007 until I left New York (2011), I was able to teach students on weekends. I am confident that my long and rich experience is the perfect fit for students who are eager to become better acquainted with the French language.
Although French is my native language, I learned it at school the same way I took English literature classes in college. I cherish French and practice it every day in writing, reading and mostly speaking. It is a subtle but relatively easy craft to grasp. That is why entrusting its learning to the expert that I am will vindicate the parents' efforts in broadening their children's scope of knowledge.
I am a helpful, reliable, patient, easygoing, understanding, cheerful, good-humored, dynamic, cultured, and respectful professional who is ready to take your child's education to the next level.
Amply knowledgeable about identifying students needs and strategies to overcome shortcomings, I also possess a close familiarity with child psychology. I flexibly adapt my schedule according to the student's needs.
An active listener who boasts outstanding organizational skills, I am ready to put to use these skills. My name is Carine K. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a native French instructor and will be honored to share my knowledge.
