About Daniel

I began my education career in San Diego, California working with emotionally disturbed students in an elementary school. I then worked at a middle school for ten years working in the environments of resource, inclusion and self-contained classrooms.

I have worked with students in kindergarten through tenth grade, and have been able to work with a variety of students with many different types of learning differences and incredible abilities.

These individuals have had learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, blindness, intellectually disabled, autistic and with traumatic brain injuries.

I have learned much from these students in the past thirteen years of teaching special education. They have taught me that they are all very capable of learning when lessons have been individualized correctly and carefully for them, and they are given the chance to excel.

I now work and live in the DFW area as a special education teacher with eight graders and am looking for the opportunity to work with students in a one-to-one environment either online or locally.

I am credentialed in the state of Texas in all grades for special education and possess a master's degree in special education.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
