I have 5 plus years’ experience working with youth. I have been volunteering for more than 10 years in regular and special education classes from Pre K-8th Grades. I worked to earn a BA in Psychology with another Major in Elementary Education with the idea in mind that I wanted to provide a more rounded approach to helping the students I serve.
I am successful at tutoring my students in Math, Language Arts, and Science for students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. I can envision myself working in collaboration with parents, supporting teachers and students in academic settings, inspiring youth with enriching curriculum that stimulates their desire to learn, and providing individual opportunities to develop skills to achieve success in the real world.
I find that wherever I have worked, I bring three key strengths to the table: I can develop positive relationships with youth and parents, I have the ability to use different learning and behavioral strategies like Bloom's Taxonomy, Multiple Intelligences, Positive Behavior Supports, Right Response Techniques, and Reinforcements to guide my students, and I am a team player.
I would greatly appreciate an opportunity to speak with you regarding the tutoring position. I believe I would be a great match for your student. I have a unique way of encouraging, inspiring, and stimulating my students' desire to engage in their learning process by creating fun ways to learn.
