I am a special educator who has been tutoring for more than 10 years after spending several years in the classroom. My specialty is supporting students who need support in executive function/organization of ideas. I love taking a complex concept and breaking it down into digestible pieces and making it meaningful and relatable for the student.

While I am certified in birth-6th grade and have taught and tutored at the elementary level from the beginning, my "teaching day job" for the past 10 years has been supporting middle and high school students in most subjects, so I am truly equipped to work with students of all ages.

I have experience with Orton Gillingham, the premier approach for supporting students with dyslexia. I worked at a school in NYC specifically for dyslexic students and I got my masters in special education with a heavy focus on learning disabilities.

My hallmark is uncovering the way a student learns and then providing strategies that capitalize off the student's many strengths in order to bolster up any challenging areas.

Math is incredibly visual and conceptual to me and I love helping students truly understand concepts (as opposed to rote memorization of facts).

I have learned that having dyslexia (or any learning difference, for that matter) comes with many cognitive gifts. I love the puzzle of figuring out how to tap into those gifts and give students a bevy of strategies to overcome their challenges.

I'm a people-person at my core and have never met a student that I haven't been able to connect with. I know it can be hard to meet someone online, but I promise we will be laughing within a few minutes of meeting each other. Please reach out to me to schedule a remote session!
