I have a B.A. in Spanish and took upper level Japanese classes at the University of Texas. In addition to having a formal university education in the Spanish language and Japanese language, I also have practical experience using my language skills as a translator, interpreter, bilingual customer service representative, and teacher/tutor. I participated in a home stay program in Mexico and Venezuela enhance my fluency in Spanish. I sharpened my Japanese language skills by applying my Japanese skills and taking intense Japanese language and culture classes while living in Japan for 4 years as an English conversation teacher. I have over 5 years of experience using my bilingual skills as a bilingual customer service representative. My passion is teaching foreign languages using the direct method of teaching while making my classes interactive, fun, and challenging. My goal is to help you reach your language goals.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
