About Kenneth

Before moving to Texas I spent twelve years as an Information Specialist for the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore Maryland where I worked with the National Library of Medicine and other Research Universities/Facilities and assisted in the development of the Aids, Human Genome and other medical/research databases. This was during the first AIDS epidemic which resulted in all of the Hopkins medical and research facilities, which had always been diverse, becoming even more so with an influx of doctors, scientists and patients from around the world. I was honored to be chosen to receive training in Cross-Cultural Communication and held workshops for Hopkins employees to alleviate and forestall the misunderstandings and tensions that may have occurred.

I am also a playwright, director, Theatre Historian and Dramaturg. I received my theatrical training at Catholic University in Washington DC and my performances include Hoke Colburn in Driving Miss Daisy, the role of ex-Negro League baseball player Troy Maxsome in August Wilson’s Fences, Lord Capulet in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, a calypso singer in the American premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Derek Walcot’s Pantomine, and the Voice of God in the Wakefield Cycles. My plays have won the Baltimore, South Carolina, and National Black Theatre Festivals and performed in New York City, Illinois, Michigan, Washington DC and San Antonio. I am also proud to have received the Horace Morse Award for Excellence in Study of History; International Foundation for Theatre Research Fellowship and Alden B Dow Creativity Fellow
