I taught Algebra 1 at a Dallas area high school for 9 years. My favorite part of teaching was being able to work one-on-one with students in order to help them understand a new concept. It brought great joy when the light bulb finally lit up!
Math didn't always come easy for me. I had to work hard to understand it, so I understand the hatred that many people have for it. My goal when teaching is to break down each concept and teach using terms that kids can actually understand. I want to relate the subject to them and teach on their level. Math can be confusing and a teacher shouldn't make it more so.
I would love to hear from you and help you achieve success in your Algebra endeavors!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
