Hello, I'm Sam! I graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. The coursework was awesome, but I loved being a teacher assistant outside of my classes. Hello, I'm Sam! I graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. The coursework was awesome, but I loved being a teacher assistant outside of my classes. I spent the second half of my time at Clemson helping students with MATLAB and Solidworks for the general engineering program. As part of the deal, myself and my fellow TA's were given the opportunity to hold outside hours for students to come and ask questions directly every week each semester. What I enjoyed most was seeing my students leave less stressed than when they walked in, and I would like to see more of that in the future.

In the past, I struggled in math consistently. I have sat down with teachers and professors for hours at times to achieve understanding, from algebra 2 to differential equations. I never left until I knew it, but it was a struggle sometimes. Fortunately out of that struggle, I have a lot of experience knowing what it is that can make a specific concept hard to understand. Sometimes grasping it is as easy as using different wording. Other times it takes hours or weeks to build a new foundation to even begin understanding, but that's a grace I was shown that I'd like to extend to others.

I've been using Solidworks for nearly 4 years and spent a year and a half helping others learn to use it. I have learned in that time that teaching it is 30% clearing up confusion and 70% watching students find new ways to break Solidworks. Not that it's their fault (it is finicky software). I'm more than prepared to help you fix it and laugh at whatever bug it throws at you.

I want to help students conquer what frustrates them. I promise to do all I can to get students past what is stumping them. I can best be contacted via text and email and I will reply as swift as I can. If you have questions for myself, want to schedule a time to meet, feel free. And if my rate is too steep, we can talk.
