About Garry

My Experiences involve architecture with various architectural firms, and two technical schools in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where I currently reside. Practicing architecture has provided me with a unique understanding of multiple building types and construction types thus enabling me to deliver collegiate level instruction from a real world perspective. I'm responsible for authoring Revit curriculum for Waukesha County Technical College, where Building Information Modeling (BIM), as a successor to AutoCAD was a focus of my architectural teachings, thus enabling students to apply critical thinking methodologies to spatial interaction. Recognized throughout the education community as a Revit / AutoCAD expert has provided me with opportunities to provide training to other educators.

Lastly, my teaching methodology is unique, in that I’m able to mesh the various learning styles and multiple intelligences of students while providing an intriguing, knowledge filled learning environment. Also regarded as a motivational speaker, I have taught many classes that are based on goals, learning techniques, resume composition, and computer skills, utilizing the latest Microsoft Office products.

Helping individuals in a smaller setting provides me exceptional enjoyment namely because I'm able to cater directly to the needs or requirements of a student. I'm able to provide instruction at that individual's pace, which makes the learning environment very personalized. One thing that makes me unique, especially in a tutoring environment, is the fact that I can take time to not only show the student how to do something, but additionally explain the logic behind why things are completed in accordance with a specified methodology.

Feel free to contact me for lessons regarding AutoCAD, Revit, or Powerpoint. I can assure you, I will show things step by step, and you'll walk away from each session with an expanded knowledge of the software.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

AutoCAD

I've utilized AutoCAD for over 20 years, while working for an architectural firm and in a teaching capacity. I've successfully taught many students how to utilize the software. I would say utilizing AutoCAD has been a significant amount of career. Currently, I continue to further my skills with the software, embracing the latest tips and tricks as the product evolves.

Revit

I'm responsible for authoring Revit curriculum for Waukesha County Technical College, where Building Information Modeling (BIM), as a successor to AutoCAD was a focus of my architectural teachings, thus enabling students to apply critical thinking methodologies to spatial interaction. Recognized throughout the education community as a Revit / AutoCAD expert has provided me with opportunities to provide training to other educators. During my time teaching for ITT Technical Institute prior to their recent closure, I was the Subject Matter Expert in the Drafting Department. Students and other educators would look to me for additional help on AutoCAD or Revit subject matter.
