My name is Yolanda. I was born in Quito, Ecuador where I received my education. I was enrolled in a bilingual school where I studied English and French together with my maternal language, Spanish.
My qualifications include 6 years of Spanish teaching to include the lower and middle school in a catholic school. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising with emphasis in copy-writing which allowed me to take many classes in Spanish etymology and culture expressions.
In my most recent position as the Spanish teacher for Holy Trinity Catholic School, I developed and taught 5th through 8th grade curriculum. For more than 6 years, I provided effective classroom management, creative lesson plans, detailed student evaluations and highly praised instructional delivery. I also developed and implemented a curriculum for the 8th graders which made them eligible to start Spanish II at the end of their school year. This curriculum was very successful granting a prestigious reputation to the school. Our 8th grade graduating class is expected to test for Spanish II in Jesuit, Nolan, Ursuline, and all the public schools in the Grapevine, Colleyville, Southlake, Keller area.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
