About Evan

I am currently a student at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. I am enrolled in a Master's Program and I will graduate next May! After my Master's Program is completed, I plan on attending medical school to eventually become a cardiothoracic surgeon.
While I was at Texas Lutheran University for my undergraduate degree, I was a Supplemental Instructor (tutor) for Anatomy and Physiology for two years. I also was a teaching assistant for Anatomy and Physiology, Basic Biology, and Genetics for 2.5 years! Needless to say, I have a lot of tutoring experience under my belt and I absolutely enjoy doing it! My favorite part about being a tutor is hearing back from students on how well they did on various tests, assignments, projects, etc.

I was a Supplemental Instructor and Teaching Assistant for Human Anatomy and Physiology at Texas Lutheran University for a total of 3 years. I have a lot of experience in helping students gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies of the human body and I love helping others learn about them too! Think about it... you're studying yourself! How cool is that??

Gaining entrance into the Master's Program I am currently in and being granted experience into medical school require high MCAT scores! I have previously taken a Kaplan MCAT course and that has allowed me to understand the methodology and thinking required to do well on this test. I can help you in fulfilling your dream of being called, "Doctor."

If you are interested in my tutoring services, please do not hesitate to contact me for more information about myself and the tutoring services I provide. I will be more than happy to tutor you and help you earn those grades you have always wanted!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Anatomy

I was a Supplemental Instructor (tutor) and Teaching Assistant for Human Anatomy and Physiology for a combined total of 4.5 years while I was working on my undergraduate degree. I would work closely with professors while I was a Teaching Assistant and I would hold closed tutor sessions with small and large groups as a Supplemental Instructor. I am very qualified to tutor students in the area of Anatomy and I provide varying tutoring methods based on Bloom's Taxonomy to monitor how students are progressing through the given material.

Biochemistry

I am very qualified to tutor Biochemistry to students. I received an A in both semesters of Biochemistry during my undergraduate degree and I have received an A in my graduate coursework. I have a lot of experience in taking the course and understand the subject very well. I am able to tutor students in Biochemistry effectively.

Biology

I was a Teaching Assistant for Basic Biology and Genetics for a combined total of 2 semesters while I was working on my undergraduate degree. I would work closely with professors while I was a Teaching Assistant and I understand effective teaching methodologies. My undergraduate degree is also in Molecular Biology. Chemistry

I received a minor in Chemistry when I graduated from my undergraduate institution. I have taken a full year of General Chemistry, a full year of Organic Chemistry, a full year of Biochemistry, and one semester of Medicinal Chemistry. Throughout my knowledge learned from these classes, I am confident in my tutoring abilities to be able to teach others chemistry.

MCAT

I received a cumulative score of 504 on my MCAT. I am most qualified to tutor for the Biological Sciences section for which I received a 129. My undergraduate degree was in Molecular Biology and I am currently in a Master of Medical Sciences Program so this will only help me improve my knowledge in this subject area. I feel confident in my abilities to tutor students effectively on this portion of the MCAT.

Physiology
