I have been working with kids for years. I graduated in May with a degree in Elementary Education and minor in Spanish and Biblical Studies. I am currently a 2nd grade teacher in FWISD. During college I had had 3 internships in 2 school districts and have worked with grades K-5. I have also spent several months teaching abroad.
I love helping students with reading, math, phonics, etc. I believe every child can learn. It is a passion and a joy to be part of my students early education. Elementary is where the foundations of learning take place. I believe this is the most important time in a child's life to thoroughly teach the basics of math, reading, writing, and science in order for success going into middle school, high school, and on to post secondary education. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I will graduate in May with a degree in Elementary Education. I have taken and passed EC-6 certification tests for the state of Texas. I have had four internships in five different public schools in two districts in Texas.
