About Andrea

I recently moved to Fort Worth from Seattle, Washington. I spent five years running a youth theatre program in the summer, that I built from the ground up. We did 8 weeks with a new workshop every 2 weeks. I taught, directed and produced 4 different shows, 2 musicals, 1 Shakespeare showcase centered around 1 play, and 1 one act play. Each workshop had up to 50 kids from the ages 4-15 and I was also responsible for up to 15 teenage interns and 6-10 adult staff. The kids learned how to put on a play from auditions to production.

I won a fellowship from the Kennedy Center Americab College Theatre Festival and got to work at the Kennedy Center for a week learning from master directors. I am an associate member of the Society of Directors and Choreographers the national union for directors and choreographers in the United States.

Teaching my summer workshops, I often had to help the younger actors learn their lines and also help with summer school homework. I also am a voracious reader and read as many as 2 to 3 books a week.

As a voracious reader, my spelling skills are outstanding. I also helped my young actors with their summer school homework at times which included spelling.

I have directed over 20 plays including large scale musicals. I taught individual acting lessons as well.

I am well versed in audition prep for both musicals and straight plays. I also have done college audition prep for seniors that are auditioning for college programs. I work with kids of all ages and love what I do! Schedule lessons today!!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
