Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I can help with real number properties, polynomials, exponents, radicals, equations, and graphs of lines. I have had extensive experience and I have tutored in all of these areas for the last 10+ years.

Algebra 2

I can assist you with relations and functions, graphing, inequalities, factoring, polynomials, rational expressions and quadratics. In addition, experience working with complex numbers, and exponential and logarithmic functions. If you are in a more advanced high school Algebra class, or college Algebra, I am very comfortable working with applications of polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic functions, and systems of equations using matrices. I have 10+ years of experience working in these more advanced algebraic areas.

Geometry

I have had 10+ years experience studying topics in Geometry. I can work with analytic proofs, synthetic proofs, and indirect proofs. I can also help with problems of area and distance, as well as algebraic applications in Geometry. I am also skilled at working with the tools used in geometric constructions, such as the compass, the protractor, and the straight edge.

Prealgebra

I have 10+ years experience solving problems from Pre-Algebra. I am very comfortable working with basic arithmetic operations that involve whole numbers, integers, fractions, and decimals. I can also help with problems that involve proportions, percentages, and measurement systems. I am very good at solving basic statistical questions that require understanding data tables, graphs, and charts.

Precalculus

I have more than 10 years experience studying and tutoring subjects necessary to prepare for Calculus. I can help students in any area of Algebra and Trigonometry, which are major foundational areas for Calculus. I can help students students understand polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions.
