Very professional, patient and knowledgable. I would recommend her service to friends and family members, looking forward for more lessons with Hope. Thanks, first day already saw some change on my son who is on elementary third grade and needed help with math.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Math has always been one of my favorite subjects. For math, I like to make it as fun and less complex as possible so my students can always look forward to learning.
As a teacher/tutor, I believe if you use good grammar and emphasize the use of correct grammar to your kids, then they will have a jump start in language skills and comprehension before they are even enrolled in school. I think you as parents should model good language every day in your home and anywhere else you go, correct your child's grammar. Even toddlers can learn the difference between "I seen" and "I saw", and it will only take a moment to make this correction. I know this because of my personal experiences from working with my own nephews and nieces. Remember to point out to your child that while he may hear words or phrases misused, he should make every effort to speak correctly.
I believe that reading is an important skill that needs to be developed in children. The more children read, the better they become at reading. It's as simple as that. The more enjoyable the things they read are, the more they'll stick with them and develop the reading skills that they'll need for full access to information in their adult lives. Reading should be viewed as a pleasurable activity - as a source of entertaining tales and useful and interesting factual information.
I have always enjoy spelling and learning the origin of the words and I look forward in helping students do the same. My past experience as a substitute teacher has helped me in accelerate in teaching this subject.
I had helped students of diverse backgrounds on their vocabulary skills while working as a substitute teacher and a voluntary bible teacher. I feel very passionate about the outcome that students get from my teaching.
