Hello my name is Mrs. Cheryl,
I have over 17 years of teaching experience, and I have worked in the public school system. Currently, I run an afterschool tutoring program in a private school in Arlington, Texas. I would be happy to help your child reach his or her learning goals. I have helped many students gain confidence and succeed through my critical thinking teaching methods. These methods take time, but they are very successful in helping each student develop lifelong skills. Hello my name is Mrs. Cheryl,

We have been with Cheryl for going on 4 years now. She is such a great influence on our daughter and is the most patient educator I have ever been around. she is talented but also concerned with true results and growth. She is honest in her feedback and we welcome anyone who has any questions to reach out to us. We will gladly give her the highest review.
We've only had a couple of sessions with Cheryl but she's been great. Very professional and knowledgeable. My son seems very comfortable with her.
Cheryl has a way of explaining to my son that he understands. Very kid friendly and teaches great study habits not for just his grade now but future grades.
Cheryl is very patient and kind. She is concerned about the studies of my child , but her total welfare too.
Thank you, Cheryl for you patience and making it fun to learn! You have her attention and she wants to learn and listen! I appreciate the extra effort you have made to ensure my daughter is up-to-date in her Math. Also, thank you so much for not making us feel that you much rush out when time is up! Thank you for caring!!!
Excellent tutor that has a passion for helping students to learn and master each subject. Cheryl is a great resource and very reliable.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In all the tests out there today, reading comprehension is the key to success. Teaching students to look for context clues and main ideas are essential to them building their skills.
In 2001, I graduated with an associate degree in Biblical Studies. In the past, I taught several age groups the Bible. Teaching the 10 basic doctrines of the Bible is the first approach to helping them understand the Bible better.
I worked with elementary students for over 6 years in different school systems including Irving ISD. I aided, tested, and at times taught K-5. I enjoy aiding children in the learning and reading process. I am currently a volunteer in the Learning Zone in Arlington.
Over the years, I have helped many students grow in their phonetic abilities. I have worked with K-2, in the public schools, for several years. If a student is not understanding the phonics, I will search for another way to help him or her. Usually, I address all the vowel sounds first and then I move on to consonant blends. I like the student to see how the words blend together. I, always, give them little sayings that will help them pronounce the word. For example, when two vowels go a walking the first one does the talking. In the word "road", we only hear the letter "O" sound. Usually, one method clicks with the student and they start to understand. I have been very successful in this area of teaching.
For 3 years I was a member in the Cape Fear Toastmasters public speaking club. One year, I served as president of the club. In the past, I have had to speak in front of large groups of people. I received an "A" in my public speaking class, 1311 at Tarrant County College. Eye contact and self confidence are two important keys in addressing a group of people, and I can help you master these and other public speaking skills.
I am a graduate from a Bible College in N.C. I feel that I have a good base and knowledge to teach this subject. In the past, I have worked and taught at several churches in my community.
In Irving ISD and Arlington ISD, I assisted students with Special Needs. These particular student needed help in all subjects. I have administered the standardized testing for various Special Ed. students. I have been told, by other staff members, that I do a good job with keeping students on task. I am currently pursuing a teaching certification and I have many valuable training sessions from each school district.
For several years, I was involved in raising money for a non-profit mission. I had to speak in front of large groups. I had to learn several skill to insure success. I joined Toastmaster and later became the president of my local chapter.
