I have served as a tutor for elementary, middle school, and high school students in mainly the areas of math and science. I have also helped my peers throughout my matriculation through high school and college. I am graduated with a BS in Chemistry with a minor in Math and graduated with an MS in Biological Sciences. After working for a few years, I decided to go back to school in pursuit of a Doctor of Pharmacy. I am looking forward to helping young students become excited about science and math! I can tutor elementary to college level students and beyond.
I will focus on helping you master the basic levels of the subject. Once the fundamental levels are mastered, you will be better able to understand the more intricate parts of the subject. In essence, this pyramid approach- building on the basics- will allow for the domination of the more difficult areas of the subject. Kiara did an excellent job working with my daughters on math skills. She is incredibly helpful, structured and an excellent communicator to help them succeed! Very thankful for her!
Kiara helped my daughter with 10th grade chemistry. After the session my daughter was much more confident about her upcoming chemistry test and was all smiles.
My son is very excited to have her for a tutor. He had a great time and we look forward to seeing Kiara again.
Kiara and I worked on Physics and she was patient with me, explained things to me that I didn't understand clearly and help me have a better understanding. I went there knowing very little about the lesson I needed help with, and walked out knowing how to do it very well.
Kiara was very patient and thoroughly went over every problem that needed help with. She is very knowledgeable and I would most definitely recommend her to anyone!!
Kiara is awesome! My daughter, a high school student in AP Physics finds her to be very good at explaining concepts and building this is a manner that builds confidence.
Will make sure to keep her on my call list for help!
Overall great tutor in Organic Chemistry!!!
Kiara was not only on time for our lesson but well equipped to show my important aspects with Nomenclature and cycloalkanes ! Worth the money!!!
My daughter liked the fact that Kiara explained things a different way if she did not understand it on the first try. Tutors and teachers often can teach but only one way . Often if the student does not understood, they will just repeat themselves. Kiara would explain and ask "Does that make sense" Before moving on. We will definitely use her on a regular basis.
I enjoyed talking with Kiara and the knowledge of this subject made me more confident that my son will be ready for the STARR exam in May. She is very patient and have a humble spirit about herself. I can tell she is professional because of the way she talk in details and shows that she care about my son. Good job and looking forward to working with her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My love for Chemistry began in high school where I was enrolled in an IB program. I passed high level exams in this subject and pursued this passion in college. I then graduated with my B.S. summa cum laude with honors. I am currently in graduate school for Organic Chemistry. I am enthusiastic about Chemistry and am ready to share that enjoyment through tutoring.
I received my B.S. in general chemistry with honors, magnum cum laude. For completion of this degree I took courses such as Organic Chemistry I and II, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Qualitative Analysis and so on. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Organic Chemistry graduate program at UTSW. Here I have completed coursework relating to organic reactions and mechanisms, structure elucidation, bioactive small molecules, advanced catalysis, and more. I currently retain possession of books related to these subjects and thus am able to combine knowledge that I have acquired through my years of chemistry studies as well as consult valuable references. I aspire to be a professor in this subject so I believe I will be valuable in trying to make the subject more lucid and exciting for students of Organic Chemistry.
I have been playing soccer for 13 years. I played in college at the Division 1 level for 4 years. In which time I was also captain of my college team. I was invited to the soccer combines my senior year but was unable to attend due to an ankle injury. In high school, I played all four years on varsity and during the off season I played club soccer on a travel team. For half of my soccer career I have been a defender, usually playing center back. However, I would often be placed as a forward. Currently, I play co-ed and indoor soccer because I love the game.
Thus, I hope I can transfer my love of the game to you. I can coach and train soccer aficionados. As well as share the process of walking on a team and getting a scholarship offer or making yourself more marketable for recruiting.
