Hi, I'm Sarah! I graduated from BA from Wellesley College and MA Yonsei GSIS. (I am currently a PhD candidate in Rhetoric.) Upon two months after receiving my master’s degree, I began working in Seoul, the center of world-class private education, as an instructor. Once I took up the role of the teacher, I fell in love with sharing my knowledge with students and watching them develop their own take on the theoretical foundations I had helped them build. I believe in the effectiveness of discussion-based, mastery-oriented group learning. Effective learning requires unique experiences and customized feedback. I teach 1:1 and small study groups, which allows me to customize the lessons to the needs of the students with a special curriculum of lectures, guided exercises, and official practice tests. Only perfect practice makes perfect.”—Vince Lombardi I have worked with many students who have been accepted to prestigious university programs with varying levels of scholarships—Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Brown University, Cornell University, Northwestern University, Georgetown University, etc. I have guided students working on private boarding school applications with great success—Hockaday, Phillips, Deerfield, Blair, Hotchkiss, etc. My work experience with teaching English to students ranges far and wide in age and levels. I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students; college and university students; and adult-learners. In the past, I participated in multiple National Speech and Debate Association competitions as a judge. I watched international students in grades 3-10 and provided feedback for their speeches, argumentation skills, and presentation techniques. Also, I collaborated with school boards to advise international schools on college counseling and researched trends in the American college appli
