My name is Sandra R., and I have a passion for working with children. All of my high school life, I have babysat children between the ages of 4 and 12. I have student taught at an elementary school in Flower Mound working with kindergarten students as well as 4th grade students. I have conducted lesson plans, and personally I enjoy helping children make their way to the top.
I also have a second job working at an ESD program which is an after school care program working with children K-5. I help them with homework, and I also supervise different, important activities. I enjoy what I do, and I know I can make an impact on children today.
I have taken Advanced Placement English courses, and I have received A's on all of my essays. When people need help editing their writing, I am the one they e-mail as I am considered a perfectionist with my writing. I am a grammar geek, so when I proofread, I tend to be very specific. I love reading children's books with children and to children. I found both techniques work great.
Although I am not all organized with my profile, I have plenty of children's books to start from, and we can go from there. I have a lot of experience with children, and all of it depends on the level your child is at. Please contact me if you would like to for me to work with your child. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
