I have been a teacher in public schools and substitute teacher, also. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 7th grades in public schools at Bowie, Aransas Pass, West Oso and in Corpus Christi, Texas. I taught 7th grade students in Grants, New Mexico.
I have worked as a substitute teacher with students ranging from kindergarten through the 8th grade. And I have taught students throughout the following cities in Texas: Corpus Christi, Kemp, Trinidad, and Tyler.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English; a certificate in Elementary Education; and a Master's degree in Education, as a Reading Specialist. Also, I have studied the Bible throughout my lifetime.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught second, third, and fifth grades in Texas Public schools for ten years. I have also substituted for three and one-half years in different subjects. I tutored one child in Reading. To find out her level of Reading, she was given a test before tutoring her in this subject.
I have taught handwriting in Texas Public Schools for ten years. And I always demonstrated the writing practice on the board and the students copied it on their papers. Also, I have good handwriting skills myself and have kept journals for the past six years.
I have taught phonics in Texas public schools for ten years in the area of Reading. I have used phonics cards, hand made games, and sight word cards to do teaching of phonics. Of course, as a teacher, I had a Reading series with phonics charts, practice sheets, and oral phonics relating to picture cards.
