The University of Texas at El Paso (Media Advertising)
Hello! My name is Jeanette, I am currently a Senior at the University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in Media Advertising, and minoring in Film. I have been a part of the creative and digital community since I was a freshman in high school, so I am extremely familiar with most of the Adobe Creative Cloud programs, but specialize in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, and Illustrator. I began mentoring others in this field when I was a senior in high school, and now
I conduct workshops for high school students wanting to get involved in this field. Part of conducting these workshops has inspired me to teach others as much as I know so that they are able to creatively express themselves, as well as pick up an expertise that might be able to help them out in the future. Being involved within my community and helping serve others has taught me how to develop my communication skills, which is something I am passionate about teaching others as well. I enjoy helping others develop their communication skills such as public speaking, reading, and writing.
What I love about tutoring is that, every student is different and therefore has different abilities and talents that are able to be developed. If there is anything I can do to help make a difference in someone else's life, I shall do it.
As a former high school Student Body President, and Regional Representative, I have had a lot of public speaking and etiquette training, as well as had my fair share of large audiences to speak and present to. Continuing my higher education in the College of Communication has also enhanced my way of being able to communicate with all sorts of people under any kind of circumstance.
I have now been doing freelance photography for a little over three years, which includes portraits, night life events, concerts, festivals, weddings, and business flyers which all require proficiency in post production editing. Lightroom is a simpler program to navigate than photoshop, but allows users to focus more on the creative tones of a photograph than it does on actual photo manipulation.
Adobe Photoshop is my baby! I predominantly use Photoshop for everything. I consider myself a Digital Visual Artist, and that encompasses the creativity and knowledge of being able create original content for my clients. Adobe Photoshop can become quite complicated, as it allows you to do many different things, such as photo manipulation, creating gifs, and even time lapses! I have now been working with photoshop for about five years, and it is definitely a program that continues to evolve.
If the areas of my expertise are something you would be interested in learning, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am here to help my community grow as much as possible, and what better way to do that than to tutor and mentor our children, our future. I am more than willing to also help out in other subjects, as I am very patient with my students, and I am continually learning even more daily. Hello! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
