About Fernando

I am a successful engineer with strong academic background in science and math. I currently hold a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and have plans to pursue my masters based on recommendations and feedback from professors. I was a research assistant for a majority of my time on college and helped tutor fellow students concurrently with my job and school work. I pride myself on my communication and verbal skills with groups as well as individuals. While employed as a government contractor for a company that hires mostly prior military I learned a great deal on how to lead and communicate to a team and team of teams.

For anyone with prior service you will know that communication is key to your job or the mission as they would say and nothing is subject to implication or speculation. When I was employed as a tutor for at risk students and troubled teens I helped them succeed in school beyond that of the subjects I was responsible for. I routinely take on new and interesting projects and encourage community involvement to learn new ways to learn and become more involved in science and math. I have helped tutor many individuals from school children, family, friends, as well adults looking to improve their skills in academia, problem solving, critical thinking, logical methods and more. I have been told by many people that I am very skilled in explaining new concepts for novices to grasp and understand what they are learning as well as the real world applications. I am very easy to approach and talk to and will offer advice on education as well as career choices.

Calculus, Calculus II, Calculus III, Differential equations, Probability, Statistics

I have always been good at helping people understand concepts in math, science, and engineering. Having always been patient and understanding my virtues and general love of knowledge make it easier to teach others especially those who have a stigma with a particular subject. When tutoring or helping others I have always found myself helping those with the drive and initiative not only learn new skills but find their true goals. Many times I have found a tutoring session turn into a career advice session which I do not mind helping those who are lost are intimidated find their calling.
My approach is adaptable from that of a life coach that gives you the inspiration and confidence on solving a problem to a drill sergeant that pushes past your limits and challenges you to learn more. I will always be patient and never make someone attempt what they cannot master. I build on trust and comfort and preform lessons that will not only help you solve a particular problem but correlate the intent behind it inclusion in a subject.
Engineering is one of the most enabling career choices you can make. Even if you are not into a specific engineering concentration there is so much you can learn from science and math to find a great and new career or better yet make one. Tutor or not I like to share my knowledge and experience with anyone who is interested.
