My name is Krystal and I am a 23 year old Elementary Education major at The University of Texas at El Paso. I have always had a passion for teaching! I have passed all necessary state exams to become a certified teacher in Texas and I am currently completing my final semester at UTEP as a 2nd grade student teacher.
I tutor some of my 2nd grade students alongside my mentor teacher twice a week and have gained quite a bit of experience doing so. I have been trained in Fundations and Lonestar Reading and Math (Target the Question) which are excellent programs used to help prepare students for new concepts and future STAAR testing. I try my best to help out my students in any way so that they can go on to be successful not only academically, but in all aspects of life. My main goal is to not only to teach content students will find on a test, but to inspire young minds to go on and find their own passion one day, just as I was lucky enough to find mine. I look forward to meeting all of my future students as a tutor! My name is Krystal and I am a 23 year old Elementary Education major at The University of Texas at El Paso. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
