About Ygnacio

I have experience in teaching for well over 5 years, at the collegiate level. I am capable of tutoring high school and middle school levels as well, and have plenty of resources and supplements other tutors will not have. I hold Masters degrees from Midwestern State University and the University of Houston.

I love math and science and am a "science nerd" at heart, and certainly not ashamed :).

I studied all through Calculus II at the collegiate level and have taken over 36 hours in statistics courses and am proficient in SPSS.

I majored in science from undergraduate and applied myself through two Masters degrees in exercise science.

Please don't hesitate to contact. I desire to be able to share my knowledge and skills with others so that it carries on into the future.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have always had a passion for math, and it has been demonstrated in my coursework at the middle school level onward. I took 4 years of math in 3 years of high school, as a result of being enrolled in advanced math placement in middle school. I completed Calculus I and Calculus II before moving into Statistics in graduate school.

Anatomy

I have spent the last 16 years of my life dedicated to A&P. I have taken coursework relevant to anatomy since 2001, and have applied each course to my focus in exercise science.

These courses include (but not limited to): Anatomy, Chordate Anatomy, Human Physiology, Exercise Physiology, and Nutrition.

Basketball

I instructed basketball at the University of Houston as an elective course from 2010-2012. My students were at all levels of skill and I successfully instilled value in team work as well as confidence in novices.

Additionally, I have played in recreational basketball leagues for over 15 years and have played since I was 5 years old.

Biostatistics

I have taken 36 hours in statistical courses during my last Masters degree alone. These courses included the following course titles: Multivariate Statistics I/II, Biostatistics, Descriptive Statistics in Education Research, Environmental Data Collection Methods, and Hierarchical Linear Modeling in Psychological and Educational Research.

I as a result have extensively used biostatistics to obtain my second Masters degree and complete my higher education.

SPSS

I have used SPSS for close to 10 years during my graduate school education. I am proficient and currently use it for my job, while instructing physicians who work for a major hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

Statistics

I have taken 36 hours in statistical courses during my last Masters degree alone. These courses included the following course titles: Multivariate Statistics I/II, Biostatistics, Descriptive Statistics in Education Research, Environmental Data Collection Methods, and Hierarchical Linear Modeling in Psychological and Educational Research.

In addition, I completed coursework using STATA, GB Stat, Statistica, SPSS, WinBug, and HLM software programming.

I have supplements from each statistical course to serve as a guidance to anyone under my tutelage.

Very pleasant and patient.

He helped me complete assignments in SPSS. I had never used the software before and while I could complete very basic steps I didn't know how to navigate through the complicated steps. He is very flexible and fair. I highly recommend him.
