I developed an interest in teaching while I was in the Air Force and was assigned to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA as a Czech language instructor. After I retired from the Air Force, I began teaching computer-related subjects.
I specialize in computer networking and security topics. I have taught computer hardware and operating systems (CompTIA's A+) and networking (CompTIA's Network+) and CompTIA's Security+ certification courses. I have also taught Cisco networking courses. I am currently an adjunct instructor in computer hardware and operating systems for Our Lady of the Lake University (San Antonio) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) for Coastal Bend College (Beeville).
I have a bachelor's degree in Information Systems and a master's degree in Information Technology. My university studies allow me to bring additional insights into networking and security topics beyond those offered in the official study guides.
I have also studied German and Czech and lived in Germany for six years while on active duty with the U. S. Air Force.
