Hello! My name is Roberto; I was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on April 20th, 1977. My primary education was formed within the public schools of this island. After graduating from High School I began my studies of education in the University of Puerto Rico. After a year, I left school to dedicate myself to business. I administered a bakery for six years, and after this returned to school. I continued my studies at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in means of becoming a teacher, and graduated in June, 2004.

My first professional experience was teaching English at a private elementary school. The curriculum was similar to the state’s curriculum (Puerto Rico), but with a religious emphasis. After two years, I decided to explore educating older students, I taught Spanish to students with social problems (school deserters, students with delinquency charges or emotionally disturbed) at Ramey Jobs Corp. A year later, I moved to a bigger city to teach English to students in a private institute. The curriculum was facilitated by the institute and the differences were mainly focused in the career the group of students was completing.

I’ve been living in Dallas since June 1st, 2006; I was hired by DISD as a fourth grade bilingual teacher. My experience the first year was challenging and it did require many adjustments. The curriculum was completely different, but I’ve had the opportunity of adjusting to it, and also creating my own curriculum. I’ve seen the importance of bonding educational content with social-psychology methods to achieve the best outcome in the teaching-learning process.
These experiences highly motivated me in completing my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. This has giving me the opportunity of forming part of an Organizational Health Committee at various schools which gives value to my understandings of numerous educational needs and its solution-process in development.

Today, I'm a specialized bilingual educator who thrives to encourage others in reaching success. I seek to reach higher academic performance levels of students in all subjects. Teaching both Spanish and English is my passion. My students always reach their goals because I care to make a difference. Remember education is a treasure for life and your success is important. It gives value towards reaching your goals and drives you to the development of best professional skills.

I provide vivid and colorful examples of what is being taught.

She enjoyed it!

Mr. Roberto helped my daughter with her homework and realized she was getting tired. He immediately adjusted and created fun games to reinforce her learning and review things from her homework. She became alert and had fun learning. He also adjusted to her learning by encouraging her to answer questions in Spanish and requiring her to use the Spanish language. I thought the lesson went well.
