Hey, I'm Michael. I'm a recent graduate from Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minor in mathematics. Having taken countless classes that are primarily focused on math and science, I understand that the learning process for any given student will be different than any other student. I will keep this fact in mind in terms of my approach to tutoring and have a different tutoring technique for every student in every subject. In general, however, I will begin a tutoring session by quickly assessing the student's understanding of the topic. From there, I explain what I believe they need to understand about the topic at hand in a simple and straightforward way and utilize most of the session to strengthen their hold on the topic. Afterwards, I can give out suggestions on how they could study to continue their understanding.

This past fall semester, I was a tutor at the Texas Tech TECHniques Center tutoring Calculus, Chemistry, Algebra, and other courses. The TECHniques Center is a tutoring service where the tutors are assigned to multiple different undergraduate students with documented evidence of learning disabilities, such as ADHD, Autism, and others. I have also had a large amount of experience tutoring my classmates and friends whenever they need help outside of class. Classes I have lead study groups in are Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Chemistry.

I want to do whatever is possible to help students gain an understanding of what is being taught in their classes and will do whatever it takes in order to get them in good standing with course material. I am willing to, and very confident that I will figure out what each student needs in order to get to a level of content mastery.
