About Alex

Bio

I'm a graduate student working on a PhD in mathematics at UNT. As an undergrad I went from an English major to a film major to a computer engineering major before finishing with my math degree.

This means that I have a lot of experience with physics, engineering, and computer science, and can easily help with those subjects as well. It also means that I know where the math comes into play, and can show you why the stuff you're struggling with is worth the effort. I've been tutoring math...

I've been tutoring math for almost a decade now, and I know how to not waste your time.

Math

Discrete Math,

Discrete Math

I've taken discrete math classes, graded for discrete math classes, tutored discrete math classes, and if I wanted to I could probably teach them here at UNT. I know the ins and outs of the subject quite well.
Electrical Engineering,

Electrical Engineering

I spent three years of my undergraduate as an electrical engineering major with a computer emphasis. I completed the minor before switching to math, but still remember the subject quite well. I also nearly completed a physics minor, so whether it comes to the circuit level or the logic level, I can help.
Logic,

Logic

I'm working on a PhD at a school which specializes in logic and set theory. I've taken a year long graduate course in the subject, and my own research frequently intersects with computability theory, a field with very close ties with logic. I've also graded for multiple logic classes in the past.
