Hi there! My name is Kassi. I have a Bachelor's degree of Sciene in Mathematics. I taught Developmental Math levels one and two in my first year of Graduate School. Math has always been my passion since my first Algebra class I had in college. I had a teacher that was very informative and made things make sense. After that class I decided that is how I wanted to teach. I wanted to make my students understand the way she made me understand, in order to make math fun and not dreadful, as I know most students see it
I try to tutor based on how my student's learn. Not one method is the same for everyone. I do my best to explain things and never go too fast. I will stop after every section and ask questions about comprehension to ensure the method I am using works for the student. I will show examples and how I work the problems, and then let the student try to work some on their own. This gives me a way to see if they get stuck on a certain part, that I need to focus more on that part for maximum understanding
Math can be fun. I look at it like puzzles that need solving. I am very passionate about it. I want to help students understand it the way I did so they can enjoy it instead of hate it. I know that can't be possible for every student. But I'm the very least I want them to understand it, have it make sense, and give them confidence that they can do it on their own!
