A little about myself--I am an experienced and dedicated educator who loves working one-on-one and in the classroom with students. I graduated in 2015 from Rice University in Houston with a Bachelors in Mathematics and Psychology. I have been tutoring for over 3 years now, and I can teach all levels of math, including elementary, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus AB and BC. I have worked with tutoring companies in LA and Houston, and for the past year I have been a substitute teacher for middle and high school classes at Crossroads School in Los Angeles. I have taught my own classes before in Los Angeles and in Houston. I love working with kids of all ages and I work well with all kinds of learners, including students from top private schools in Houston and Los Angeles and students with learning differences. I am committed to helping students and families reach their academic goals and I truly enjoy my work. My clients love me!
I teach most other subjects as well including English, Spanish, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, etc. I have been training to become a teacher in Texas but I have also trained to teach the upper and lower level ISEE, and the ACT, SAT. I scored a 33 overall on my ACT with a perfect score in the Math section and I graduated Rice University with a 3.4 GPA.
I want to continue teaching and learning, and I am flexible with my schedule, so I can work with families to help students. I have reliable transportation and I am willing to travel up to 30 minutes from Denton to tutor. I love math, and Its my goal to inspire others to love math as well! I can tutor all levels of Mathematics from Elementary, to Pre-Algebra, all the way through Calculus BC. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Scored a perfect score on the ACT math section in 2010 and a 33 overall. Have trained and tutored ACT classes and private tutoring sessions.
Taught Algebra 1 course at summer school, tutored algebra 1 for several years with different students with great success.
I have tutored AP Calculus AB and BC.
I tutored geometry for three years and taught geometry class at a school.
I was trained by two different tutoring companies on how to work with students on the ISEE, so I have extensive knowledge of the test. I also taught two 6-week ISEE courses to groups of 6-10 students.
Scored a perfect score on the ACT math section when I took it, taught SAT and ACT math for 2+ years.
I have tutored Trigonometry and its applications in physics and calculus.
