University of North Texas (Real Estate)
I'm a former high school debater with 4 years competitive experience. Two time state medalist, Twice district Champion, and NTDA (North Texas Debate Association) Scholarship recipient for Cross-Examination Debate. In simplicity I gave speeches in affirmation/negation of topic related arguments. The topics I debated were: School Funding, Space Exploration/Development, Military Funding/Reduction, and Infrastructure Development in the United States.
After my Freshman Year I was on the Varsity Team, and helped tutor all new coming members on the team. Debate is something that I feel helped me realize what I wanted to do in life. Before I became a debater I was very shy, and didn't really talk to anyone. I joined the class on a whim, and fell in love with it. I find that if I'm to give a presentation over any topic I would prefer to do it through verbal communication rather then written.
Throughout school I've been in peer mentoring programs, and have helped students in my undergraduate studies to succeed in classes. I have a natural patience, and an easily adaptability that allow me to work with anyone.
2 Time State Medalist in Debate
2 Time District Champion
3 Time Regional Qualifier for Extemporaneous Speaking
Outside of my studies I lived, and breathed, communication.
With no intentions of sounding like a pre-written biography, I'm a very nice person. Truly. It takes a lot to upset me, and even then I try to resolve the situation before acting irrational. In life I feel that being frustrated is a road to nowhere that only causes more issues then it solves. If you would like to do a thorough correspondence before getting to a lesson I understand completely. I'm a former high school debater with 4 years competitive experience. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Former four year high school debater. 2 Time State Medalist, 2 Time District Champion. Every round the minimum amount of time for my speeches was 8 Minutes. The average was 16 Minutes. I trained for every round how not only to appropriately argue the topic; additionally, how to deliver it. Not only did I help other members of my team, I was also a peer tutor helping other students in my school excel in programs they struggled in. My curriculum will be subject to the students needs. At the basis I will focus on rudimentary things like speech composition, then grow into orally presenting the speech. I practiced this for years, so not only do I know what works best for competitors, but anyone looking to grow in verbal communication.
