I have tutored elementary, middle, and college students in the past. My strengths are in biology, writing, chemistry 1 & 2, psychology, statistics, and trigonometry. I did very well on the SAT and ACT as well, so I can provide test prep. I am willing to meet at your desired location and I teach specifically based on your learning style. I am majoring in psychology and communication disorders, with minors in biomedical sciences and nonprofit management. I have experience in a broad range of subjects, maintaining a 3.9 GPA going into my senior year at UCF.
I know that math can be a very tricky subject. It's all about practice! Working out problems together, explaining the way to do things, and then letting you discover that you can do them yourself is the best way to success--in my personal experience.
These subjects are based more on concepts and really understanding the material. I have a variety of techniques for memorization and really getting the key ideas down pat.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have experience tutoring children in math ranging in age from kindergarten to high school. I was a volunteer tutor to elementary aged kids in high school as well as the past couple years in college. I've been hired over the past 2 years to tutor college peers of mine in math and chemistry.
I scored very well on the SAT and ACT in all areas, so I can help prepare students for the math sections of those tests as well.
I have tutored elementary school students in reading for the past several years. I volunteered to do so throughout high school and have been hired to help by my college peers. I've done tutoring training with the City of Orlando's Outreach Love program.
SAT reading was my strong suit when I took the test a few years ago. I scored extremely high and have strategies I can pass along to help your child succeed as well. I did just as well on the ACT if that is of concern too.
