I recently moved to Denton, TX a few months ago and I work for the University of North Texas. I have worked with college students in various settings at three different universities and my ultimate mission is student success—whatever that may look like for each individual student.

I have privately tutored multiple students in various subjects ranging from elementary to college-level math, chemistry, history, writing and reading, ACT test prep, and various other subjects. I’ve been tutoring for over ten years on and off in three different locations.

I have also helped college-bound students navigate the very confusing college application process. From helping with college essays, to giving advice about how to get the most out of a college tour, to helping fill out basic applications, and understanding the FAFSA and financial aid process...I have helped countless students with this process--which I have done in addition to tutoring as an added service. I have worked in higher education for over 10 years and have a masters degree in higher education administration, which helps me understand what colleges are looking for and how best students can stand out in the application process.

I think the best tutors are ones that can personally connect with their students. My goal as a tutor is to help students become the best student they can be--both in the classroom and outside of the classroom. I think it is important for students and tutors to trust each other--or nothing will get accomplished. Students need to feel comfortable admitting when they do not understand something, and I am extremely patient as I know everybody has different learning styles and abilities. I do my best to accommodate everybody and anybody and continue to build a level of trust and mutual respect to best service the students and families.

It went very, very well.

This was our first lesson with Chelsea. She is tutoring my granddaughter in Geometry. It went very, very well. My g/daughter liked her a lot & they seemed to connect over the work they were covering. We're looking forward to more sessions with Chelsea and a lot of progress with my g/daughter's Geometry skills!

Reviewed Algebra I and Math Model lessons. Her technique of explanation and reinforcing gave me the ability to improve my grades and increase my knowledge in math. I would recommend her to anyone struggling with high school math.
