I completed a PhD in mathematics in 2011 and am currently a part-time math professor. I have 9 years of teaching experience and have taught Geometry, College Algebra (Algebra II), Mathematical Modeling, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, II, and Business Calculus. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I first took a course in Differential Equations in 1997. Since then I have tutored many Differential Equations students (in university tutoring centers) and have helped write exams for a D.E. course (as an lecturing assistant).
I took undergraduate courses in Discrete Mathematics as well as Number Theory, Combinatorics, and Graph Theory. As a graduate student I took a class in Information Theory and my area of research - frame theory - has many applications in information and coding theory. One of my publications specifically deals with applications of frames in graph theory.
