I am a retired business consultant and former adjunct community college instructor with experience in MICROSOFT OFFICE, ACCOUNTING, QUICKBOOKS and OPEN OFFICE. I am also an ECONOMICS junkie with the ability to explain economics on a level of understanding so my students can excel in economics.

I have over 50 years business experience in ACCOUNTING and ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS with advanced advanced skills in job cost accounting, financial statement analysis and inventory control.

I adjust my tutoring process to the student's needs for understanding their subject and completing their course work successfully. In the past 20 years I have taught business owners, office managers, bookkeepers and staff personnel in understanding and using accounting for increased profitability.

I am an skilled instructor in MS Office and have advanced levels of understanding of MS Excel and Word.

My skills in QuickBooks are advanced well above the average QuickBooks user and most instructors. I am able to teach single user, multi-user network versions and POS applications.

I have 20 Years experience as a business consultant for small privately owned businesses throughout the United States. I was employed by the largest consulting company specializing in small to medium size companies. My consulting included developing business management systems for companies with multiple departments and locations. Areas in which I consulted included HR, Accounting and Finance, Manufacturing Controls, Job Costing, Sales and Marketing.


As an experienced business consultant it was necessary to teach business owners and managers basic economic principles so they could maximize their profits in the marketplace. I have always had a broad understanding of economics and utilized economic principles not only in my business career but also in my personal life. The most important aspect of teaching economics is applying economics to everyday life.

General Computer

I have used personal computers since the 1980's when the primary OS was DOS and commands were entered from the keyboard. Web browsers did not exist.
My experience includes building PC's, installing and managing networks, developing backup protocols and training personnel in effective use of file management on both servers and work stations.
I have also trained and developed web sites for companies.

Microsoft Excel

I am an expert user and developer of spreadsheets for personal and business use.
I have developed linked workbooks and spreadsheets for businesses with up to 24 retail locations. These workbooks were large enough to require active indexes for moving from one worksheet to another.
Learn LOOKUP, CELL LINKING, WHATIFS, PIVOT TABLES AND other advanced use of the Excel program.
I specialize in business user training.

Microsoft Outlook

I have been a long time user of Microsoft Outlook. In addition to personally using Outlook for my internet business I have set up the system in small business environment. I have found outlook to be intuitively easy to understand and use.

I teach using hands on training methodology. I use a check list to ensure all subjects are covered.
I also like my students to rate their skill levels based on some simple questions before we begin lessons.

Microsoft PowerPoint

I have developed PowerPoint Presentations for Clients to use in Customer Presentations as well as for my own use as a training presentation for client employees.
I have taught PowerPoint in private training schools.
PowerPoint is best experienced with used to its full capability using animations, fades and background music.
I am a self-taught user of PowerPoint as when I began using the program in the mid 90's there were few courses or instructors available.

Microsoft Windows

I have over 20 years' experience teaching new and experienced Windows users in a classroom, individually and in business environments.
My Windows teaching experience includes as an adjunct instructor at Columbus State Community College.
My hands on training includes: file management and search; desk top and task bar; adding and deleting programs; virus protection; using accessories; using the control panel and using the "cloud".

Microsoft Word

I will train you to use WORD as it was intended rather than as a fancy typewriter.
You will learn how to format page layouts, document sections, specific paragraphs and fonts for effective use and presentation to the reader. Learn how to develop mail merges and macros.
Learn how to manage files for easily locating documents stored on your computer or a server.
When finished you will be able to develop your own brochure, bank presentation or other business or personal documents.


I have set up QuickBooks for a single user up through Enterprise versions. I have my own sets of Chart of Accounts for specific industries I have consulted in. I have set up POS systems for small retailers, including bar code readers, cash drawers and receipt printers. I know how to and have set up departments and multiple locations.
