I have been teaching music for the last 5 years and really enjoy seeing students learn and be able to play their guitars, mandolins, and fiddles. One thing about teaching is being able to motivate them to learn by having fun while they are learning.
I have been playing music for more than 40 years and have played in many venues in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. I have enjoyed my time playing these venues but now I concentrate on teaching others how to bring the joy of music into others' lives.
One of the things that I have found out is that most people want to be able to play immediately and that is one of the things that I make sure of on guitar or mandolin. That you can play a song the first lesson that you take. A very simple song, but never the less, it's an accomplishment that can be seen right off of the bat. It will give you the desire to learn more each time you learn something new!
I teach one on one and use different methods to instill the knowledge that they receive in class. The students can go to my website and log-in to the student area and view the lesson videos that are online, many of which are what they learned in class. And the video section is updated weekly. Also included are backing tracks and the music PDFs as well. It helps the students to remember what we did in class.
It is important for the student to enjoy class and also to have fun but more important is the need to do something at home with what you have learned. Practice and play time are very vital to the student for reinforcing the lesson given.
I also take the students that have learned to play as beginners to venues to play together with other students. I take a group of students to the local nursing homes and we play to them for 30 minutes or so. It helps the student to learn to play with other musicians, and have a blast at playing out live and receive the recognition of being up on stage!
So if you are looking for a patient, humble teacher, I am the choice for you! I have been teaching music for the last 5 years and really enjoy seeing students learn and be able to play their guitars, mandolins, and fiddles. One thing about teaching is being able to motivate them to learn by having fun while they are learning.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In writing my music for the 130 songs, I wrote and played all the parts/instruments. I used the keyboard and wrote the parts via midi port thru the Cakewalk program I used to record with. I also did the scoring of the music using software from Cakewalk inside the program. I also use Band In The Box to work with writing music and scoring the separate parts using their software. I have a very good understanding of how music works and what goes together.
I have been playing music for over 40 years, starting out with flute in 1964. I have been singing in choirs, doing solos, and have played in quite a few bands. I am currently teaching music full time and also hold music seminars locally. My knowledge of music includes the theory, notation, tabs, fundamentals of what works together, scales, both instrumentally and vocally, timing, rhythm, lead improvising, and melodic composition.
I have been teaching guitar for over 5 years. I have taught young children to adults with many learning to play the guitar. I have played music in bands and worked in recording studios for the last 20 years. I teach how to play the guitar and how things work together to make music gel. I am a very patient and humble teacher and have very good people skills.
I have worked with Microsoft Outlook for many years, setting up my email accounts. I have set up accounts for 3rd party such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail. I use Outlook as my only mail connection to all my accounts and use it frequently with my students sending attachments. I have had to trouble shoot all my IT problems in-house. Transferred PST files and relocate files when updating my OS and Software programs. I feel very comfortable in Outlook and it does everything I need it to do.
I have a small venue recording studio. I have recorded and produced my own music plus several projects for others. It is set up for 1 or 2 people to come in and do songs, jingles, ads, and do it at a very cost effective price. Over the last 10 years I have worked on at least 150 projects for myself and others.
I am qualified to instruct in song writing as I have written and recorded and produced over 130 songs. I am able to teach the lyricist phrasing, choose the music that works with the words and theme and also help in the production of the song. I have been involved with music since 1964, where I learned to play the flute and have incorporated all my learning into a complete understanding of how music really works.
I first started making websites with just HTML code and doing basic graphic work with Adobe Photoshop. I made 7 sites by code and then I delved into using Microsoft FrontPage. I have used FrontPage for the last few years along with other software, dropdown menus etc. I have designed around 30 websites, some of which are no longer in existence as they are out of business. I have done Flash but since it doesn't work on mobile devices I have used a scripting animation software from Adobe called Image Ready. I currently have 9 sites that I update and maintain on a daily basis as needed.
