Hello! My name is Varun. I am a professional software and RPA developer, as well as a mentor and trainer to junior developers. I've been tutoring professionally on and off for the past 8 years, and have helped students improve their grades, do better on the SATs, graduate high school, and get accepted into college. For the past 4 years, I've also been acting as a teacher to fellow developers at work, teaching both computer science fundamentals and language-specific concepts. Helping others learn and understand has been a staple of my life for many years.

My greatest motivation for teaching is to help others see, understand, and enjoy academic concepts the way I do. Learning is much easier when you can have fun and appreciate the knowledge you gain. I've helped people appreciate topics as varied as Algebra, binary, recursion, Perl, custom Enterprise development, geometry, and English (spelling, grammar, vocabulary, etc). I am proud to have many success stories under my belt and intend on adding more.

In addition to doing well in all math classes through the end of high school and scoring high on the Math portion of the SATs, I've also completed several high-level math courses at the University level at the University of Texas, such as Discrete Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Logic, Probability, Differential and Integral Calculus, and Number Theory. I already have tutoring experience in college courses of Calculus I & II.

Biology has been one of my favorite subjects since I was in kindergarten, and I've always been one step ahead of my teachers on the subject. I've also completed Biology I & II at the University of Texas and worked at the Texas Memorial Museum of Natural History as an educator and guide.

I started programming at 14 and received the "Computer Science Award" at my high school graduation. I attended the University of Texas, where I was accepted into the Turing Scholars program, and graduated in 2012 with a B.S. in Computer Science. During my college years, I worked in several software start-up ventures and internships, and also tutored in Computer Science. I've been working as a professional software developer since 2012. I've developed dozens of applications that are used by Fortune 500 companies as well as applications for other clients.

I'm a full-time software and robotic process automation developer, but I'm here because I enjoy helping others to learn. If you're looking for someone who wants to help you learn and understand tricky topics, just shoot me a message!

C#

After graduating with my Computer Science degree from UT Austin in 2012, I started working as a Software Developer focused on C#, .NET, SQL, and Perl. Today, with nearly 7 years of C# experience, I am considered an expert and have acted as a trainer to many developers as part of my job. Dozens of my C# applications are used by one of the top 20 retailers in the US, where I specialized in automating processes within their fuels distribution sub-company.

Computer Science

I have a degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas, which was ranked the #1 Computer Science school in the US for 2018 by US World and News Report. I worked in multiple software development as well as teaching positions during college, and have worked as a software engineer for over 6 years since graduating. After quickly becoming a leader at my positions, I both developed dozens of applications independently and taught and mentored several other developers - many of whom were senior to me. During my education and career, I've become familiar with over a dozen programming languages, and have extensive experience with popular languages such as Java, C#, Python, SQL, Perl, and JavaScript.

Logic

I am known as "the Logician" for my great appreciation and application of Formal Logic, which I've studied both through school and independently. The Computer Science degree plan at the University of Texas is heavy on Logic and Discrete Mathematics, and these topics are heavily used in my profession as well. I've taken honors and upper-level Logic courses at UT and am a daily practitioner as a Software Developer and underlying Computer Scientist.
