As a GED and Academic Advisor for adults, I implemented various tools to seek careers of choice as well as find appropriate educational career paths. Working with students with disabilities, hands-on experience was necessary for student to be able to apply for jobs once they reach a certain age. I established community based instruction locations where students were able to work hands-on in places such as Chili's, Longhorn, Walmart, Publix, Kmart, Salvation Army, and Clay County Women's Shelter. I have been a special education teacher for 12 years for students with various learning disabilities. Within these years have had extensive experience working with student who have diagnosed with physical and mental needs. In my self-contained class, I motivated my students to process information and apply in various ways.
