I graduated from W T White High School in 2008 and Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 2012. My degree was in English with a Creative Writing Specialization and a Minor in Human Rights. I began working as an Assistant Teacher at a church day school when I was only 17 and have been tutoring/ working with children since.
Throughout my four years at SMU, I worked as a tutor for DISD and I am now a full-time employee with a DISD high school as a Community Liaison. I also used to own my own nonprofit that tutored refugee children (ages 5-12) in an after school setting and taught them to read, write, and practice their math skills. I love working with children and personalizing their learning experience.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
